Description: I have had many problems with the apartment and with the rental company. First of all, the place is old and the landlords do not want to put any money into fixing it. For example, my back door was rotten and leaked in water during those rainy days. It took about a year, which included 2-3 phone calls and 5-6 emails, before the landlords decided to change the door. Same goes for my toilet. They would cheaply fix the mechanism only to break again a few months later. I ended up fixing it myself.
Last year, we had a huge mice problem. Again, it took many phone calls (made by the tenants in unit 5 mostly) and the threat of a law suit for the company to call in exterminators and deal with the problem.
I've also experienced an invasion of property when someone from the company entered my apartment without permission, walked all over the floor and my yoga mat with salty/rocky winter boot. This was during the cold spell in the winter of 2013 when I asked if there was a problem with the pipes because the water stopped running out of the taps. Water still stops running when the weather goes below -15C.
Recently, I found out that my storage unit containing personal items, located in the basement of the house, was cleared by the landlord without permission and locked for further use. I was told that a notice was placed at the front doors and in the laundry room but no one in the building has seen such a notice. There are 5 units in the building. It would seem that placing a notice in each mailbox was too difficult. They are now charging for the space, which is not worth a penny!
In all, my experience with this apartment and Olympus Properties has been horrible. They are only in for the money and will charge obscene amounts (i.e. the extra storage space) that are not worth the price.
